Summary: The object of the project is to develop the know-how and subsystems required for the construction of the first global lidar trading system for the simultaneous measurement of aerosols and temperature in the troposphere. Vertical temperature distribution is a parameter that determines atmospheric dynamics, cloud formation and diffusion of pollution gases, so a system that simultaneously measures aerosols and temperatures has direct commercial application to meteorology and research.

Project title: SOCS: SMART OXYGEN CONTROL SYSTEM (project code: Τ1ΕDΚ-03869)

Summary: Main objective of the project is the development, characterization and field validation of a Smart Oxygen Control System (SOCS). This device will be a global innovation and will lead to significant reduction in the consumption of oxygen and consequently energy within hospitals. This device will incorporate a MEMS (MicroElectroMechanical System) pressure sensor compatible for use with oxygen and capable of being sterilized that will detect the patient respiration.

Summary:The purpose of the research proposal is the development of an electronic platform for the continuous monitoring of critical national infrastructures in the wider area of the Gulf of Corinth at the borders of the Greek Supersite named “Enceladus”. The proposal combines instrumental with remote monitoring and the development of fuzzy cognitive network (FGN) methods. The above together with machine learning algorithms will produce a modern decision-making and support tool for monitoring these critical infrastructures. In particular the electronic platform will collect and process data from three-axis accelerometers (instrumental measurements), GNSS permanent station (GPS) measurements and differential interferometry data of radar images (remote measurements).

Project title: Micromechanical Differential Pressure Sensor System – MDCAP (project code: Τ2ΕDK-04976)

Duration: 30 Μonths

Summary: In this project will be held the design, development and characterization of a differential measurement system MEMS capacitive differential sensor isolated from the medium for use in a demanding environment (eg toxic). The final system, apart from the MEMS sensor, will also contain a CMOS ASIC with integrated logic. ESS will design and manufacture the necessary CMOS electronics that will read the sensor. The two tiles will be packaged together and form the final differential measurement system.

Summary: The large refrigeration units used primarily in the food sector are equipment with high installation, maintenance and repair costs. The proposed solution innovates both in terms of hardware and software – data analytics, proposing an integrated system that will be able to deal with the problem at low cost, high efficiency, creating alerts and reports in real time. The object and goal of the project is the design and development of an integrated solution, based on the current trend of automation and data exchange in the field of production technologies (Industry 4.0).
